School # 6 Holds Successful Career Fair
On Friday, April 25, 2008 School #6 celebrated its second annual Career Fair. Approximately twenty-eight members of our parent population and their neighbors along with several community service professionals participated. Parents shared job responsibilities and experiences from the medical field, food service and nutrition, flower arrangement, media and technological specialties, managerial positions, security, construction, private piloting, U.S. coast guarding and U. S. Air force training. Community service members shared skills and equipment from the police department, fire department and emergency medical technical service.
In our gymnasium, the children took the opportunity to visit the career tables of their choice. There they gathered information, asked questions and received various free gifts. Outside the students got to see first hand the equipment used by our community service professionals and learn about the responsibilities of their life saving positions.
School #6 students and staff would again like to thank all who participated and contributed to our Fair’s success!
