The Community — Overview

Winslow Township is a sprawling 58-square-mile community located in the southern most tip of Camden County, New Jersey.  It borders Atlantic, Gloucester and Burlington Counties and is on the fringe of the Pinelands, a 1.1 million acre national wildlife protection area.  Some of the communities include Sicklerville, Blue Anchor, Waterford, Cedar Brook, Tansboro, Braddock, Winslow and Elm.

The township has a strong foundation as a family-oriented, agricultural community.  Generations have farmed the land, built businesses and raised families here.  Even as the community has experienced explosive residential growth, it has retained its agricultural base, including peach and apple orchards, corn fields and a range of vegetable crops, sold to wholesale distributors and to the delight of residents, at roadside stands from spring to late fall.

Large new single family homes have sprung up in the community, complemented by small, older neighborhoods dotting the landscape throughout the township.  The population has grown from 20,034 in the 1980 US Census to 30,087 in the 1990 US Census and approximately 34,000 today.  The new families are attracted to Winslow Township for its outstanding home values, rural setting, quiet lifestyle and, most significantly, excellent schools.
