Mission Statement:The objective of this Parent Teacher
Organization shall be to promote unity between the
home, school, parents/guardians, teachers,
and administrators in order to educate and develop each
child to the fullest of his/her potential.
Our PTO plays an important role in the excellence of Winslow School #3. Its successful yearly fundraisers enable the children to enjoy enriching assemblies, educational field trips and tokens of appreciation such as Field Day snacks and School #3 folders given to the children as part of the Birthday Program. The PTO has purchased many items which the children benefit from including playground equipment, computers and software, audiovisual equipment, gym equipment, new sound system for the All Purpose Room and new kitchen for the Teachers Lounge which the students have been able to use for nutrition lessons. The PTO purchased the wonderful School #3 sign in front of our school, which informs those passing by of our important news. General Mills Box Tops for Education and Campbell’s Soup Labels are collected for equipment and items for our school. The PTO is also sponsoring the Reading Incentive Program prizes and Weekly Readers and Scholastic News for the students.
Throughout the year, the PTO organizes and runs the Holiday Shop, book fairs, and other events for the convenience and enjoyment of the students. We look forward to renewing our Spirit Wear tee shirts with the school logo on them this year to encourage our students to take pride in our school. T he PTO oversees refreshments for school events, breakfast for the staff on opening day and a luncheon for the teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week.
As a parent or guardian of a School #3 student, you are automatically a part of the PTO and supporter of our students’ education. Please contact our school or check our school calendar on this web site for the next PTO meeting and join us. We have many fun and exciting things planned for this school year and we need your help to make them successful and enjoyable for our children.
