Originally constructed in 1976, Winslow Township Elementary School #4's campus serves the needs of a diverse student body of over 500 students in grades pre-kindergarten through second grade via a dedicated and fully certified staff. In addition to our comprehensive literacy and math programs, students also enjoy a wide selection of special area classes including Art, PE, Library, Music, Computers, Spanish and Gifted and Talented. In addition to promoting academic achievement, we also focus on our students' social and emotional well being.
Our school-wide theme this year revolved around the book Have You Filled a Bucket Today? A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids, by Carol McCloud. The book explains to children that we all carry an invisible bucket in which we keep our feelings about ourselves. When our buckets are full, we are happy, when they are empty, we are sad. It's important to know that we can fill our own bucket and so can others. We can also dip into it. You can read more about this message www.bucketfillers101.com program, which includes a unique blend of MegaSkills and Social Decision Making, which emphasizes modeling positive behaviors. This book will be shared throughout the Winslow Township Elementary School 4 Family, enabling us all to have shared conversation about how it relates to what is happening in our students' daily lives, classrooms, playground, and even on the buses.
For nearly a decade, my career as an administrator has been both a rewarding and educational journey. It has taken me through Career and Technical education and our own comprehensive Winslow Township High School. I have made this journey, and met the demands, thereof, as both an Assistant Principal and as a Principal. In truth, I am inspired by the students that I have met and helped to mold along the way.
Now, I am continuing this journey into elementary education by helping to develop the intellectual and social-emotional growth of younger children, along with the wonderful staff here at Winslow Township Elementary School #4.
I look forward to continuing to work with you and your child in a wonderfully exciting new school year! Please feel free to reach out to me at any time via phone, email, or in person.
