Concentration is a very important part of perseverance.  Parents should build their children’s concentration with listening games.  Parents and children give each other directions to follow and carry out the directions.  For fun, these can be timed and children can work on increasing times…so they keep paying attention for longer and longer periods of time.  The number of directions can be changed making the activity as easy or as challenging as needed to meet children’s needs at different ages.
