The WTHS Guidance and Counseling
Program is aligned with the National Standards for School Counseling as well
as New Jersey Administrative Code.
All services are designed to meet the
academic, personal/social, and career/vocational needs of all WTHS students
and are delivered by the following means:
· Individual
Student Planning Sessions including academic program planning and coordination
of activities that support long and short-term goals
· Responsive
Services, such as counseling, consultation with school staff and/or families,
referral services, mediation, or information
· A
guidance curriculum that meets age-appropriate developmental goals through
individual, large group, small group, and classroom presentations.
Special Events/Activities
· College Night for
parents/guardians and students in grades 9-12.
· College Planning for
Student Athletes
· On-site PSAT, SAT, and ACT
testing
· Financial Aid
Information/Planning for parents/guardians and students in grades 9-12
· Honors Assembly with
keynote speaker and recognition of students who have earned any honors
recognition for the school year
· Moving On! A special
daytime event that highlights college, career, and community resources for all
WTHS students
· Coordination of Visits by
College Admissions Representatives
