Renassance

 Renaissance National Program

Winslow Township Middle School is one of more than seventy schools in the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware area to offer this exciting program to its students and staff. This program, sponsored by Jostens, is the first and only educationally-focused national program created to recognize and reward the academic achievements of students from elementary school through college. Its primary goals are to increase student performance, reward teacher effort, and to raise the level of community participation in schools. Students are recognized for meeting specific criteria each marking period and, if successful, are awarded a Green, Blue, or Yellow card that entitles them to certain privileges and rewards in both the school and the community. More information about the National Renaissance Program can be found @ www.jostens.com/edserv

 
 
WTMS Renaissance Program
 
Renaissance is a program designed to recognize, reward, and motivate our students who excel in three specific areas of achievement: Academics, Attendance, and Behavior by extending to them privileges associated with the attainment of these levels of excellence. In addition, students are expected to participate in school or community activities. Students are recognized for participation in the Renaissance program each marking period. Our goal is to make each student believe they can succeed in school and, therefore, life. The purpose of the program is to recognize and reward those students who achieve specific standards of excellence with tangible incentives and rewards. Renaissance is a partnership between the students, the teachers, the parents, the school administration, the business community, and the community at large. Renaissance is a commitment to make Winslow Township Middle School a center of academic excellence.
 
 
Requirements:
 
1.      Attendance - No more than two unexcused absences from school during the marking period. No more than two unexcused latenesses to school during the marking period.
 
2.      Behavior - No administrative disciplinary issues during the marking period.
 
3.      Service - Students are to demonstrate participation in at least one school activity, club, community organization or a place of employment. 
 
4.      Academic Standards
 
GREEN CARD - Average of 92 or above
BLUE CARD - Average of 83 and 91
YELLOW CARD - Average of 65 and 82
 
* All students must be passing all subjects (no grade below 65)
* All incomplete grades must be cleared up within one week from the last day of the marking period.
* Any abuse of membership rights, responsibilities and privileges may be grounds for loss of the Renaissance card and its privileges.
