Update - WTHS Bomb Threat (October 10, 2025)

Friday, October 10, 2025
Dear WTHS Parents,
At approximately, 11:10 a.m. the high school administration was alerted to a possible threat involving a firework device in the high school building. The administration was able to immediately identify the student and remove the firework from the student’s possession.

With an abundance of caution, the building was evacuated and staff and students reported to their evacuation sites on the campus. Staff and students were then directed to the high school athletic field.  Due to the timing of the event, students were dismissed from school early and began boarding their buses at 12:45 p.m.  At no time were staff and students in danger.

In conjunction with the Camden County Sheriff’s Department, which included their K-9 Unit and Bomb Squad, the Winslow Township Police Department conducted a thorough sweep of the high school, and the building was given the “all clear.” The firework device was seized by the Camden County Bomb Squad and taken for additional tests.  This is an ongoing investigation.

My sincere appreciation is extended to the Winslow Township High School administration, staff, and students for their cooperation and calm response during this incident.  I would also like to thank the Winslow Township Police Department, the Camden County Sheriff’s Department and their K-9 and Bomb Squad Units for their quick response and attention to detail for the safety of our staff and students.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Sincerely,

Mark Pease, Interim Superintendent
